  Link to P2 files from different computer

  This must be a remedial question because it’s such a fundamental issue, but this is my first P2 project and I’m trying to catch up fast!

  Our MXF files are all on external firewire drives, usually staying hooked into one computer. If I hook a drive into a different computer (with the same project) can I just relink like I would with QTs or do I have to ingest everything all over again?

  Ok I figured out that ingesting turns clips into QTs that can be moved. Any suggestions on a good compression size for the copies?

  You cannot change the compression of the QuickTime files.

  If you use Raylight (https://www.dvfilm.com/raylight/mac/index.htm), you can work with the MXF files natively inside FCP.
