A couple of weeks ago we got some nice new toys, some Quad-cores with Kona 3 cards in them. Very nice.

Now I need to input from some consumer gear, so I hooked up my old Io, plugged in the VHS, loaded up the Io drivers and voila! Nothing.

When I switch inputs in Final Cut I can see that they change on the Io front panel, but I just don’t see anything in the Record Tool window.

In the Io control panel it says that there is a video input, but when I switch to FCP the Io controls go inactive and it says there is no video detected.

I’m sure its just some little switch I have forgotten, but does anyone have some tips? By all accounts there should be no conflicts with the Kona.

Are you using the io easy setups form within FCP?

I am still using a g5 and a dual cors intel, but its always squirrely trying to get my ioLA running with my kona card. I have to switch on the io, plug it into the firewire bus, make sure there is notheing else on the firewire bus, make sure i have video going into the io, then restart my computer, not just fcp. When i get fcp open, i have to make sure all my AV settings reflect the IO, not the kona. Then it usually works.

    hope this helps
