Apologies if this is a dumb question but it’s my first HD project and I haven’t even started it yet!

My producer’s shooting 1080p 25 on HDCAM (F900) while another crew is shooting 1080i 50 again HDCAM (F750) and we’re going to use some of their footage. I’m planning to edit this in ProRes. Now I know that 25P isn’t true progressive, but will the two formats play together OK and what do I need to set my sequence settings to for a 25p master.

    Thanks

small correction – going to master 50i so I guess the sequence will be 50i, however wise words about putting interlace material into a progressive sequence would be useful still.

Technically, there’s no such thing as 1080P in HD Cam, it’s actually 1080PsF. If you digitize everything using the 1080 50i preset you should be fine.
