What setting to export?
Posted by Randall Murphy on April 14, 2007 at 10:52 pmI’m creating a DVD and authoring it in encore. There are tons of exporting options in AE and so many different results. What is the best/cleanest option for exporting?

April 15, 2007 at 3:38 pmWork backwards from DVD:
DVD needs a movie compressed to MPEG-2. Create that in Encore or similar compression app.
Encore needs uncompressed AVI to make that MPEG-2. Create that in AE.If not uncompressed AVI, create a similar high-quality movie using the Animation codec in Quicktime, or an 8-bit uncompressed codec if you have it.
Make sure you’re in the right size preset: 720×480 DV if you’re in NTSC.
Anyway, render using the render queue and make it as high quality as possible at the specified frame size.

Thanks Steve for your input. That clears things up for me. I’m in San Diego but spent two months out of the year in Brampton with a client last year.
