What’s the best format to export my HD project to another editor in?
I have 1920×1080 25p HDCAM project that I want to send to another editor who will edit in a lower rez version.
I have about 800GB of footage all encoded in QT Cineform.
I’m trying to use Media Manager to ‘Recompress’ the whole project but I can’t find a decent preset. Within Media Manager, if I use ‘Custom’ then I can’t seem to set it up so I get 1024×576 Anamorphic 16:9 PAL. I can do this with individual clips using ‘Export’ Quicktime conversion, but I want to do the whole project.
Whatever format I use, I want to keep my HD project in sync with his Lower rez version 3000 miles away.

Just use 720×576 and tell him it’s anamorphic.

If I run a test using Media Manager to recompress to 720 x 576, then, when I open the clip in Quicktime it’s all width-wise squashed and the clip is not marked as Anamorphic.

Doesn’t matter. The editor will flag it as anamorphic after it’s been imported into Final Cut. That’s the proper workflow for widescreen SD.
