  Exporting HDV sequence for DVD

  Hi Everyone.. (Newbie technophobe here).

  Might sound a simple task to you guys but I’m having trouble exporting a HDV sequence to Quicktime movie. (Best possible resolution) to burn onto an SD DVD (PAL). My Sequence settings I think are correct: (See below). I think the footage was initially digitized into FCP at the wrong frame size 1440×1088 from a Sony Z1. Should it have been 1920×1080 as someone has said?

  I was wondering if this could be part of my problem and could/should I resize the clips in the sequence to 1920×1880 and if so how would that be done?

  Sorry for being such a numbskull, but any help or advice on a” step by step” process through the settings and export would be greatly appreciated to a beginner editor. No amount of lnstruction-reading has seen me succeed and I’m beginning to lose heart.

  Frame size 1920×1080. Aspect Ratio = HDTV 1080i-50
  Pixel Aspect Square
  Field Dom =Upper
  Quality 100%

  VIDEO PROCESSING TAB =Checked
  Render 10bit material Hi Pres YUV.
  Process Max White as = White
  Motion Filtering Quality = Best

  The size you have is correct.

  Just export the finished sequence directly to Compressor for the MPEG-2 compression.

  It’s likely to take a long time to compress, and if you want to speed up the process, you could export the sequence as a DVCPROHD Or DVCPRO50 QT and compress that… but theory would state a double compression isn’t as good, but it may be acceptable, and it’s likely to be faster.

  I’d just export the native sequence myself, and take a powder..
