I don’t believe that Walter ever said that the MacBook Air is a bad computer. It just does NOT fit his needs. People here do video, and the MacBook Air was not built to be a video machine in any way at all. It is a perfect machine for those who don’t need a powerful computer (yes there are people out there who do not need the power we do for video) people who travel a lot and are concerned with weight.
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.
Don’t let technology get in the way of your creativity! -
Uh Zane, the first rule of thumb you need to know is that if I’m not helping someone solve a problem, don’t take a single word I say seriously.
BTW, Walter Murch is going to be editing his next feature on a tricked out iPhone. He thinks MacBook Air is overkill.

Well, after spending all that money, he sure as heck wasn’t going to let that laptop hit the ground first! Geez, better to spend that money getting your face fixed up rather than explain to the Apple Genius how you managed to fold up the Air in ways it was never meant to be folded up.
“See, I’m trying to use the keyboard,but it’s in three pieces. How do I fix that?”
Gotta love the man though. He puts technology ahead of his own safety! 🙂

Not the same as the famed “Wally Drop” test is it…. He at least caught the technology on the way down…. 🙂
But them it was just a Macbook Air……. a little lighter than the RTRX…
