Rollerblind
Hi, does anyone have an idea of how I could go about creating a rollerblind effect. Basically I just want to pull down an image which is wrapped around a cylinder. I’ve been playing around with Cylinder and Conoa CylinderWarp but I just can’t quite figure it.

If you’re using CC Cylinder, you’ll have to fake it. Try this:
– a layer in the main comp representing the flat image, sliding down out from under a track matte that hides it, and
– a comp representing the content mapped onto the cylinder, and
– that comp added as a layer into the main comp, with CC cylinder applied.Now the roller cylinder can be blank, which would be easy. But if you want an image, you’ll have to go into the sub-comp (the second thing above) and make sure that the layer only shows part of the image: the part that would wrap around the cylinder once. You’ll then have to apply the offset effect to that image so you change the portion of the image that appears in that comp. This is what we see wrapped around the cylinder (and moving) as it appears to rotate.
You just have to synchronize the sliding of the images. No big deal – just start and end the slides in the two comps at the same time.
Anyway, I haven’t tried this, but it should work.

Boris Cylinder has a percentage of wrap parameter. Basically a no-brainer for unrolling a window shade.
If you need this effect more than once, buy a Boris product that includes the 3D stuff like Cube, Sphere and Cylinder.bogiesan
