I’m starting a project using P2 HD files which I haven’t worked with before. I was wondering if there’s any pitfalls I should be aware of before I get started. I’m importing everything overnight tonight into FCP (version 5). I used the import Panasonic P2 option and setup an import queue with the interface (not sure what its called) that pops up.

The footage is all green screen. I was planning on cutting it all in FCP at native res of 1080i 60 and then doing the keying/compositing in AE (probably with a little back and forth between applications). The final product will be a DVD.

The other question I had is if I should keep it all HD and then just convert if for SD when its time to burn the DVD?

Or is there some way I should convert it before I even get started?

Any suggestions would help. The timeline on the project is very tight, so I need to work as efficiently as possible.

Thanks for any advice/answers to this post.
