Recently, when i want to play a video in the timeline, i get the color ball, and it stays there until i force quit.
The system works fine, only Final Cut Pro not responding.

I’m working on a project timeline with this settings:
    HDTV 1080i(16:9)
    Square
    Upper Odd Fields
    Pal
    Apple ProRes Codec (HQ)

    My system info:
    Mac OS Tiger
    2×3 GHZ Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    9GB 667 MHZ DDR2 FB-DIMM Memory
    All software updated

    Hardware:
Connected via PCI Extreme 4LANE to a BlackMagic Multibridge Extreme
Firmware and software with latest updates

If someone has an ideia on this, i’d appreciate the help

I would also suggest that you remove the one gig of Apple memory bringing your total to 8 gig. FCP works best in multiples of 4 (and works with 2 gig, too). So you can have it configured to 2 gig, 4 gig, 8 gig, 16 gig. This is the specs from Apple and I haven’t had a single issue with this.

Here’s the white paper on that:

Also, what kind of drives are you playing back from?

    Good catch, Jeremy!

I was going to paste that in and got side tracked while editing…
