  AJ-D250 capture glitches in FCP 6.0.2

  I’ve used the D250 as a DVCPRO capture & record deck for a few years, and this week when I try to capture I get random digital glitches throughout the captured footage. Multi-coloured visual noise and a 1-frame burst of audio static. This has happened before but restarting comp/deck/FCP always made it go away. Now it’s here to stay.

  I’ve checked all deck settings against Panasonic’s compatibility chart, swapped cables, computers, etc. Playback looks fine on a reference monitor but captured footage is messed in FCP.

  Please let me know if you’ve experienced this problem. I can email pics or MOVs of the glitches if that helps.

  FCP 6.0.2
  2 x 3GHz Dual-Core
  OS X 10.4.11
  Panasonic AJ-D250 NTSC deck w/3-port firewire option

  Might try resetting your SMU…
