  • problem reconnecting files with FCP upgrade

Posted by Michael Garske on February 15, 2008 at 8:27 pm

I recently upgraded Final Cut to version 6.0.2 from 6.0.1.

My old project files are having difficulty reconnecting files even though it’s looking directly at them in external hard drive. This is a big problem because I have a great deal of offline media.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Does anyone now of a patch or workaround for this aside from manually reconnecting the media?

This is pretty time sensitive. Thanks.

[Michael Garske] “My old project files are having difficulty reconnecting files”

What do you mean by “Difficult”? If it’s only doing one at a time, then yes, others have reported that problem.

    Mike,
Well, I’ve just started working with a system upgraded to OS-10.4.11, QT7.3.1, FCP 6.0.2. There is one media file that mysteriously would not reconnect. I’ve located it and am pointing right at it and…nothing. I’ve got several other projects operating no problem. I’m sorry I don’t have any solutions for you. Just corroboration of your problem at this point. I’ll try to see what’s different about that file.

Sorry I got really busy & didn’t have time to check this post. Thanks for your reply, I wasn’t really expecting there to be an easy answer just thought I’d ask. Actually after moving some of the clip’s locations I was able to manually reconnect most of the media. Still not sure what caused the problem.

    Thanks again for the reply.
