  Missing Sorenson Video 3 from export option – Can I copy it from my Old MAC into new Mac?

  Hello all ..

  I recently installed FCP 4.0 on a G5 and ran the upgrade FCP 5.0 I applied all the updates etc ..

  On my older Laptop I had aldo installed FCP 4.0 and upgraded it to 5.0. On the laptop I still have an option to export using sorenson 3

  The problem is that this option is no longer available on the FCP 5.0 on my newly installed G5.

  The quetsion I have is: ‘

  Can I copy files and directories from my older MAC to the new to add the sorenson video compression? If so which files I need to copy

  I’m away from my computer now — And I cannot check – I will get back to you tonight.

  But how does that matter? Can you please explain?
  If I need to update to a new version I could od that .

  Totally depends on QT version but if you go into System Preferences > Quicktime then click the advanced tab there should be an option saying “Show Legacy Encoders”. Turn that on.

  I’m using version 7.4.1 (14) On both computers and the option was not selected on either one of the two systrem (My lap top & G5)

  However I did select the option and I still do not see the Sorenson video ?

  Something is amiss here?

  Any idea?
