    Hey guys,

I’m sure, absolutely, without a doubt, that this is me being stupid – but I have to ask.

I just bought the awesome Nattress big box of plugins. When using the G Glow Dissolve I notice my waveform video levels get super hot. With all the documentation and huge levels of respect that Nattress has, I’m sure this is something wrong on my part or my system.

This happens even after applying Broadcast levels (extremely conservative). My source tape is digibeta and is fine levelwise before applying the transition.

Any ideas what I’ve done wrong?

    Thanks guys!

This happens on all of my “flash-across” style effects, regardless of where I got them.

It does bother me a bit that it is so hot.

If you’re worried about it passing quality control somewhere, you might nest the section with the effect in it and add the “broadcast safe” to the nest.

Hmmm, I have noticed this too, so I stopped using them on broadcast jobs. Seem to be okay on DVDs etc.

    Have a wonderful day.

Thanks guys – seems like a weird thing, doesn’t it? There wasn’t any documentation on it that levels would go hot, plus there’s so much documentation on the site regarding accurate levels that it’s still hard for me to believe that this transition blows out video levels without warning.

Maybe there’s a setting or something that makes it work right. I’ll keep researching.

I’ve added a level clamp on the effect to stop this happening. It will go out in the next update of BBOT.
