• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  using mackie control surface with FCP

  I’ve been trying to use MCU (Mackie Control Universal) with FCP, but no luck.
  Can anyone help me to set up this device for FCP (and Soundtrack pro too)?

  My (used) MCU came with MIDI/USB cable (midi1x1 by E-MU), so I hooked it up and select MCU under the ‘Control Surface’ in FCP… and even turned on the Audio Mixer window (Record audio Keyframe too.) That’s all i was able to do… What else should I do? Does it have to do to something with my Multibridge Pro or HDlink?

  Actually I solved the problem… through the apple forum (final cut pro)
  So, anyone needs help on this topic, try apple forum
  you’ll find my post and ‘Andy Mees’ nicely detailed answer.

  I’m not sure if there are updates for fcp6 for this device. Here’s some info from the sound track manual for fcp5:

  issue resolved here

  basically mismatched control protocol settings between the MCU and FCP
