All of the sudden all of my playback out of my FCP system shows a timecode window. I’ve never had this before. I downloaded Aja 4.O so I could have Pro Res 422on my system.

I have a G5 Quad running FCP 6.0.1. I’m editing to Beta SP as 8 Bit uncompressed. My system is a dual boot system with Media 100 Hde on one side and FCP on the other HD. Media 100 Hde came with an Aja OEM card. There’s no settings that I changed in my PVW 2800 but all playback has time code burned in. It’s recording to my deck the same way. HELP!! I have a deadline tonight! It doesn’t show any timecode in the canvas window though.

I honestly think it has to be your deck that is doing the burn in – as Final Cut Pro has no setting to add timecode like that unless you explicitly add filters and tell it to do that.

I guess there is a possibility it can be something in the AJA – but on my Kona 3 I don’t remember there ever being a setting to do this.

If you must, try resetting the deck to factory defaults.

Also are you sure you’re not monitoring the deck via the composite super?

Thanks guys. No it’s got to be something in the AJA Setting. Like i said nothing has changed with my deck.

I just checked my Kona 3 Control Panel and there is actually a field where you can add timecode burn in. That’s probably what it is.

Open your Kona Control panel and click on the Timecode tab. There is a Timecode Burn-In dropdown that you can set to off. Do that and hopefully you’re good.
