ProRes 422
Posted by Greg Ball on January 19, 2008 at 4:33 pmI don’t see the ProRes 422 option in my easy set-up. I’m on FCP 6.0.1 on a Mac G5 Quad with an AJA OEM card that came with my Media 100 Hde system. Shouldn’t it be in the easy set-up
menu? I’d love to take advantage of it. Any thoughts?Rafael Amador replied 18 years, 7 months ago 4 Members · 5 Replies -

January 19, 2008 at 4:40 pmNot sure if it will work with that AJA board.
With FCP 6.0, you now have multiple layers of options in the Easy Setup room. ProRes is not available for every frame rate, every format I don’t believe.
I know you’ll see Pro Res in NTSC SD 29.97 and HD 720 or 1080.

January 19, 2008 at 5:00 pmThanks Walter, I’m editing Beta SP footage at NTSC SD 29.97. Usually 8-bit uncompressed. Do you think there’s any software updates available for that or am I just plain out of luck?
I was hoping to digitize about 6 hours of interviews to edit while saving drive space. -

As for the card working, you would have to call AJA Tech support and ask them.

January 19, 2008 at 5:23 pmI think I read that sometimes you need to reinstall the AJA (or update to the latest) to get the presets to show after installing FCS.

January 20, 2008 at 7:30 pmIf you have installed FC after installing the AJA, you better reinstall the AJA drivers.
