I own AE 6.5 Pro; according to the Adobe site I can upgrade to AE 7.0 now for $199 and then get a free upgrade to CS3 when it’s released, or I can preorder AE CS3 for $299 & wait… what am I missing here? Is there a catch in me saving $100?

    Cheers!

Maybe they’ve got abunch of AE7 boxes to get rid of?!? OR perhaps it’s a pre-order thing..I notice alot of companies offering heavy discounts if you pre-order rather than waiting til it comes out. (Gridiron being one) Maybe it’s beneficial for sales/profit to do it that way? I ain’t no businessman.

Pre-order money is in the bank gathering interest for Adobe and also each sale counts towards release day sales, so marketing has bigger numbers to wave around.

I confirmed this with Adobe that it’s a loophole. At $199, they’re still making some good money… and making us loophole-users happy by saving a hundred bucks.
