    Hey!

Anyone know any good online resources / tuts for compressor, qmaster setup?

I would like to set up compressor rendering and shake rendering that includes the octo, one quad and 3 MBPs optimally.

I think the manual is your best bet.

    Good luck!

I’m afraid that will cause more confusion. The gang at Apple who wrote those manuals obviously has never used any of their products.

Better than nothing, which is currently what I know to be out there about it. Nothing.

Do you know of a better source?

Do a quick search… I found an artical on Barefeats.com that explained in very simple steps how to get Compressor kicking butt with 8 cores

Setting up a Virtual Cluster is much different than what arnljot wants to do. He wants to setup 5 or so computers using Qmaster to have a network render.

    I have to ask….

After fumbling thru the manual, I finally got network rendering to work… sort of….

Every time that I try to do this with my Mac Pro and G5, if they don’t crash, my video looses sync or skips to different areas in the video.

I haven’t had success with this yet, and I have been a little hesitant about using anymore until I hear that things are worked out.

Besides, my Mac Pro could render by itself equally as the network render.

I have never been able to setup Qmaster either. I always chalked it up to me not understanding the process.
