  I posted earlier on whether I need to upgrade from the AJA Io to the Kona if we were only working with P2 media. The answer (as I understood) is no as long as we are not outputting to HD or viewing on an HD monitor. When I stated this to a co-worker he said that the AJA Io will only work with 29.97 fps footage and it has problems outputting to DigiBeta.

  Anyone have any further knowledge of these or any other limitations of the Io?

  your co-worker is only partially correct, and if it was true the rest of the world that does PAL(25fps) would be out of luck.

  Remember that all NTSC SD content is 29.97 on tape and PAL SD is always 25 fps.

  The Io product line does not have any issues laying off to beta, there are literally 1000s of units working with SD content everyday around the world.

  however, there are different versions of the Io product line.
  The IoHD does digital and analog SD and HD in all frame rates, the Original Io with digital and analog SD, the IoLA – analog SD only, and the IoLD – digital SD only.
