intel/non-intel
Hi,
I am editing a project on an intel imac but it doesn’t want open up on my non intel G5… it gets stuck at 34% each time.All projects created on the non intel G5 work fine though..
both running leopard, I’m wondering if its possible that projects created and/or saved on an intel have any problem opening on non-intel.. I’m using FCP studio 6.0.2 on both.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Nope. No difference between the 2 computers when it comes to files.
Something’s going wrong, but I don’t know what. Open the project on the Intel machine and do “Save As” and make a new copy of it. It sounds like something is corupt in the original file.

You shouldn’t be having an issue to tell you the truth. I also edit on an Intel Mac and a G5 Mac. For our studio here.
Have you tried throwing away your preferences on both macs to set them up the same?
Also, I would try saving on the Intel side with only the standard 4 windows (Browser,Viewer,Canvas,Timeline) sometimes I find it takes abit longer for the G5 to open the other bin windows I have open.

thanks for the responses.. I will try trashing prefs and saving as etc..
Are you saying that if there are ANY differences in the preferences, the other computer won’t be able to open it?

No, he’s saying the prefernces might have become corupt in some way that’s causing an error. Tossing them resets everything to a basic system.
