  • what? no capture?

i haven’t captured from my Beta deck in quite some time, but it used to work virtually flawlessly. today, “Attempt to capture without a video device selected. Please select a video device in your capture presets and try again.”

i”ve done that, tried again, saved, restarted…same warning. i can shuttle the tape and log in and out points remotedly, but when i go to batch capture, the tape goes to the inpoint and then just plays to the end, not capturing at all. capture now just gives me the warning as above.

    hmmmm…

    thanks again!

    gittin’ there…

like everyone seems to say…when nothing else makes sense, “trash your prefs!”

i did, and now i can batch capture, capture now, etc. yahoo! BUT

(and there’s always a big butt somewhere, isn’t there?)

now i’m not capturing any audio…nor getting playback on my output monitor. time to play with settings, although everything “appears” to be correct now…

    thanks again!

[mortimer heathcliff] “Please select a video device in your capture presets and try again.””
Hi Mortimer i guess that FC is not recognizing your desk. With the desk pluged, open the Video/Audio Setting> Capture presets.
Look for your capture preset. The one that is checked with a black mark. Click it to see the settings in the right window (Sumary). Have a look to see if there is written the name of of your desk.
If not, duplicate the preset and have a look is is now.
If not yet, click Edit to open all Prest properties. Look under Digitizer: IMPUT.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi all,

Thanks a lot for these tips – has saved me from what I thought was going to be a wasted day’s capturing.

What worked for me was simply duplicating the preset and then using that new duplicated preset.

    Really strange, but worked.

    Cheers,
    Dave
