  FCP & DVD Studio Pro

  I am editing on FCP 2. My timeline is anamorphic 16×9. I need to create a DVD that will play on a regular dvd player to a plasma 16×9 monitor. When I create a DVD in DVD Studio Pro, it plays on my computer in the correct 16×9 format, but on the monitor it is always 4:3. How do I create a 16×9 DVD for a 16×9 monitor from FCP and DVD Studio Pro?

  You create a 16:9 DVD in DVD Studio Pro.

  You then ensure that your DVD Player is set up for a widescreen display and the DVD Player is connected via Component or HDMI. If the DVD Player is connected via S-Video or Composite, it will not display a widescreen image on a widescreen display.

  Check these 2 places as well:

  In Compressor, the presets can be made to specify that the image is 16×9. If the one you are using does not, dupliacte it and alter the duplicate. (Although the ratio is 16×9, check to make sure the frame size remains 720×480.) Re-export using the new setting.

  Second, in DVD Studio Pro, make sure the track that you place the video in is specified as 16×9.
