Capture Settings, HDV down-converted
Hello,
Before we start capturing 30+ hours of HDV footage, we wanted to double-check that our settings are correct. If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.
1) We are capturing 30 hours of HDV footage, shot with a Sony V1U at 24p, and down-converting it as DV NTSC footage (to be re-captured down the road in HD).
I am curious if the following capture setting is correct:
Quick-time Video Settings:
Compressor DV/DVCPRO-NTSC, Quality 100%As a side-note, when would you compress at the ‘easy setup’ option H.264, Quality 75%?
2) We’d like to combine this eventually with previously-shot SD 30 frames material. We know we can work with both formats in FCP 6 timelines, but does anyone foresee any problems? We’re considering eventually buying a software program to give the 30f footage a 24p look. Does this seem like the best approach, and if yes, do you recommend a particular software for this?
Thank you in advance,
A.Anderson
