  24p GRAPHICS. They always run 60!

  Hi there!

  I shoot 24fps on a Canon XL-2.

  However, when I make my graphics (transitions, text flying on the screen, etc.) The graphics are running at 60fps.

  It’s a very minor issue that’s bugged me for a while, I figured I would ask and get an answer once and for all.

  How can I make my graphics run at a film-like 24fps?

  What program are you using to make these graphics? Set the frame rate to 23.98.

  You shoot 24fps on the Canon but capture it as 60i without removing pulldown? Therefore your timeline is 60i. Therefore the titles you make in FCP are going to have the 60i motion. I can see how that would be not so good. You’re kinda stuck with that unless you decide to work in a 23.98 timeline in the future.

  Or, you could produce the graphics in an app that allows you to export them as 24fps with pulldown added.

  Less complicated workflow might be to switch over to a 30P model. It allows you to get some of that filmy motion and it’s easier to make your titles match–you just set the sequence field dom to none.
