  PhotoShop Graphics in FCP (Studio HD)

  It seems each time I import a graphic from PhotoShop into FCP I can see what I can only describe as the ‘box’ around the graphic or the outline of the ‘alpha channel’. Even nesting the graphic doesn’t seem to help. I’ve tried moving the graphic a pixel up or down and sometimes gets a little better, but never really gone.

  (I’m editing in standard def and using the Blackmagic box for Decklink)

  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  Try changing the premultiplication settings & see if that helps.

  Open the graphic in the viewer, type command-9, and find the setting for the alpha. Toggle between straight & premultiplied.

  If that doesn’t help, then post a still from your timeline so we can see what the problem looks like.

  That didn’t fix the problem totally, but it may end up helping out with a couple other issues. As far as posting a screen shot, the issue doesn’t occur until it reaches the preview monitor. It looks fine on my computer and when I export a ‘QuickTime’ movie, etc, but once I cut to tape…ta-da!
