thanx for reading. maybe you can help me and my project.

i did my first documentary/65min/dvpal/captured with 3 sony cameras minidv 3ccc. this bad, now i know…

the picture quality is not ok. one can see “stairs” in the outlines of the people. and when someone is moving for ex. the hand, one can see horizontal lines. i did a research and now i think, this is because i have interlaced data from 3 cameras. what do you think?

so i started to deinterlace it with fcp. tried different settings. but none of mine was sufficent.
in after effects i used the effect called “reduce flicker” this worked out, but the picture lost sharpness.

what would you do with this project? belive me, i would be more than happy, if we could fix this problem.

Sounds like your fields might be reversed. Take a look in your video effects bin and see if you have an effect that will allow you to swap the fields around. Not sure if FCP ships with a filter that will do this,, off the top of my head i think Joe’s Filters has one,, Nattress might, I think there are a few others.

before playing with field shifting/swaping you should check your sequence settings.. do they match the video? and was your video captured properly for DVPal? how was your footage captured? what is your sequence setting? Is the horizontal lines visible on you computer screen? or only the CRT you are monitoring with?

simply shooting a mini-dv camera shouldn’t give you the lines you are describing,,
