Outputing Windows Media on a Mac
I have flip4mac $180 HD version, but I don’t have the option of outputing windows media via After Effect’s render engine.
I know this isn’t a FCP topic, but FCP is a mac only app so I figured you guys would know how to encode for windows media…
I want to be able to output to windows media from within the app(After Effects). How do I do this? Is this Possible? Is there an easier way to output Windows media?
I have the FC Studio 2 and CS3 Student editon if that makes a difference. THANK YOU in advance!!!!!!!!

Do it on a PC is your only option.

oops, looks like there is an option under File, Export
but not from the render que. -
The thing that is frustrating is that I know that it is possible becuase I saw it on a G5 at my internship, but the person whose computer it was left the company and took the computer with her before I got a chance to get ask her….

Your version of Flip4Mac works as a plug-in for Compressor. I’m After Effects ignorant, but if you could render a file and load it to Compressor (say a hi-rez quicktime file) then it could compress a WMV movie. Settings/New Default Setting/Quicktime Export Components/Encoder Type: Windows Media

I don’t understand.
I just explained how you can do it.
It won’t work from the render que, you have to
do it from the file, export menu in after effects.I have the same version of Flip4mac that you have.
It will work.

It works… but not good. So it basically doesnt’ work. The color is way off and the lines are not sharp.
I will try with compressor…
