    hi.

i just upgraded my OSX to 10.4.10

I’m running FCP4.5 — now when i try to digitize, i get no video or audio — the digitize tool is reading the timecode, but says it is not recognizing the deck….

i was running OSX 10.3.9 and it worked fine….

any thoughts on what the problem is and how to fix it?

    17″ Powerbook, 1GhZ

    thanks

When making a major OS upgrade, say from 10.3 to 10.4, it is always recommended to do a completely clean install.

This means erasing your System Drive, installing the new OS clean, running all the updates and then re-installing all of your software. This is what we do with each major upgrade and will do again when Leopard finally ships.

Also, with FCP 4.5, ensure that it can truly run with all of the updates. Older versions of FCP oftentimes do not work all that stable with the latest and greatest versions of OS and Quicktime.

    Good deal.

God I am not. A kid named in my honor, unneccessary,

but I am glad you are up and running.
