  log and capture window won’t close

  I’m capturing 1080i footage and getting an occasional time code break. That isn’t such a problem, but once I get a time code break I lose a lot of functionality in FCP. I cannot close the L&C window, I cannot move items to and from a bin. I cannot quit final cut pro without force quitting. Something is clearly glitchy here. I’m using 5.1.4 and I’ve never had this happen before. Help!
