FCP 5.04 is not launching, neither from the toolbar, nor from my applications folder. It starts to load and then ceases to open. No error message or anything, just doesn’t lauch. I also restarted my computer already, and it still doesn’t launch. I’m going to try and shutdown completely….but any other thoughts on what the problem might be?

Thanks. I appreciate any insight and info you are able to share

Try trashing your preferences (or atleast moving them to the desktop).

If you need help finding them, click on the Home folder in the left toolbar in the Finder window and go: Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data

The files you want to move to the desktop are:
    Final Cut Pro 5.X Prefs
    Final Cut Pro Obj Cache
Final Cut Pro Prof Cache (This might be Version 6 only)

    Then try opening FCP again.

The app finalcutrescue will fix this for you. Download it from the usual macwebpages.

Did you resolve this? Try trashing all your render files, even the thumbnail ones.
