    hey guys im having some trouble with my matte because i dont know how to tell it to use the layer below it, if that makes any sense. what i have is a shot where i have motion tracked in a painting on the wall and i have the actor walk in front of the painting. i hope i asked my question well enough, anyone with some info on what to do would be amazing and save the shot thank you

    place your ‘fill’ layer (the layer your want the key applied to) below your matte (key) layer. use the track matte pulldown of your ‘fill’ layer and set it to use your matte layer (these options, if not visible, are in the ‘transfer control’ pane in the timeline, in ae7 there is a button on the lower left corner of the timeline to open).
