Log and Capture is adding an extra “B” at the end of clip name
Does anyone know how to get rid of the “B” that FCP keeps adding to my clip name?

Have never seen FCP add anything to a name except sequential numbers.

That would probably be putting an “A” at the tail of the previous clip name.

the only time i have seen fcp add a Letter (as opposed to incrementing numbers) is on the REEL name, and its usually because of time code breaks ie i set an in and out on a tape to capture, but there is a tc break between that in and out, so fcp stops, recues before the break, then captures after the break, but adds a B suffix to the reel name or number.
its actually a good way to keep track of clips that might not recapture correctly.
depending on the number of breaks, it will add C, D, E, and so on.
after the stuff is all captured, you can go into the bin, select the clips that have been B-ed, and change them back to the original number, if you like.
you can also leave them
i know this may sound like a shill to buy more storage, but i have found that its a real thrash to recapture in FCP, especially with a prosumer deck like M10U (which we have)
I always capture at the resolution i am going to finish at, so i do not need to recapture or if i do, its a minimum amount of material.hope this helps
