  Codec Not Found – Render Error

  Just upgraded to Final Cut Studio 2.

  Opened a project in FCP6 I have been working on recently in FCP5. It updated the project as a newer version.

  Made a few changes to a sequence. Then tried to render sequence, but got the following error message:

  “Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card.”

  I am working in HD 1080i50, however there is also some footage imported from a low res .mov in the sequence along side the HD footage.

  I do not know what settings have been changed to get this error message – I rendered the sequence fine in FCP5.

  What is going wrong?

  I have now figured out that there are some graphic scenes in my sequence that have been imported from a .AVI movie.

  Are there any codecs missing from the new FCP6? Because this sequence worked fine on my FCP5 version.

  Do you have the flip4mac plug in installed on the FCP6 system?
