    You can get more ‘lift’ within Soundtrack Pro.
    You can also ‘normalize’ the audio.

    I don’t know how well you know the app but it is almost certainly your answer. Interacts with FCP.

    Another possible solution is to copy your audio and past it in another audio track & lining them up together.

    It’s a common problem here too, with the sources tapes have the audio recorded at too low a level. Try using the excellent Compressor/Limiter provided in FCP in your Audio Filters. It gets us out of trouble many a time. Make sure you tick the ‘Preserve Volume’ box and set the compression to around 1.5 which will squash the audio dynamics a bit but at the prize of giving you much more volume to play with. You need to experiment with the ‘Threshold’ value to make it operate successfully.

    I often find this better and quicker than firing up Soundtrack Pro (which is nonetheless a very good tool).

Far more interesting and useful. bogiesan This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
