    Hi there,

I’m trying to achieve a certain effect with Particular and I’m hoping someone can help.

I’m trying to simulate water bubbles flowing through a valve. I want a stream of particles to start off with a vertical spread of, say 50 and flow horizontal from left to right. The particles then change their spread 1 second in, as the bubbles enter the valve, say to 20. Then as the bubbles exit the valve, the spread changes to 50 again. I’m using a light to define the motion path right now. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!
    Jay

That’s simply not possible in the way you want it. ZThere is no way to control the “pipe radius”/ flow radius. You have to use separate emitters for each segment of the path to create the illusion.

the foam effect may allow you to do whoat you are looking for… it will create bubbles and allow you to ‘form’ the flow based on a ‘flow map’ (just another solid or comp in the poject, usually grey scale, the white areas are the flow path).
