  FCP changes media files and I have to reconnect them

  Hi,
  I hope someone can help me.
  I have a very strange issue: in a SAN with 3 Macs I capture a lot of p2 files (in DV25 format) directly on the XServe Raid from a Panasonic reader.
  I edit without problems for minutes or hours (who knows?).
  The project is on the raid, as the media.
  Suddenly, one o more files go offline.
  It happens while I’m editing; the icons on my project become red.
  Normally it happens when I switch to another application, but often while I’m working in FCP.
  I can normally reconnect the media; but sometimes one or more files become corrupted.

  The point is that FCP has a good reason to send the files offline: they are CHANGED. The modification date is not the original one! The files have been modified right before the “offline problem”. The files are different in size (more bits). SOMETHING changed the file.
  But what???
  How can FCP modify a file? It reads the media without ever modifying them.
  Could it be the SAN software (Metasan)? But why?
  Could it be a maintenance operation of MacOSX?
  Or Spotlight indexing?
  An XServe Raid failure? (I don’t think so: yes, the file could be corrupted, but why a modified modification date?)
  I can’t see a reason of this issue.
  I’m sure no one on a Mac modified the files.
  Anyone having the same problem?
  I have a major problem here…
