  Bloom Transition

  I am looking to replicate the “Bloom” transition in final cut. I see this transition on many network shows – especially reality TV shows to go from clip to clip. I have a plug in for after effects that does it, but not FCP. The effect essentially burs and saturates and blows out the highlights… anyone know a FCP transition plug in that does this?

  One of the FX Factory packages has a nice one. Check out their website.

  If you can still find it, Eureka had one called Vapor Across (I think) and it was a free download.

  I like the one in the Nattress Film Effects series.

  The one you see in all the reality shows is probably done with Sapphire or Boris. It’s not a transition, per se, so much as simply ramping up the bloom (with or without blur) on both sides of a cut to create the flash.
