Grain/noise reduction
Please Help!!
I am in the middle of a music project filming musicians in South America. Unfortunately my PD 150 packed up and I’ve had to continue with a one chip panasonic amateur camcorder. The sound is being recorded seperately. I’ve just captured the footage from a number of shoots under artificial light and, although the picture looked passable on the camera’s LCD screen, full screen it looks awful. Moving grainy noise abounds. Is there any filter or plug in filter that can mask this somehow?
I am utterly desperate!!

If you are used to a PD150, I can feel your pain! Try the noise reducer in the package “Repair Collection”, I consider it the best for FCP: http://www.chv-plugins.com
The statistical noise reducer in After Effects (ex Grain Surgery) is even better, but very sloooooow.

We are using canon Fx100, the program fcpx does not import the original clip which is an mxf file so we are converting it with adobe after effects and the picture becomes grainy,is there anyway to improve on the grain or is there a better program we could use, we have the picture quality correct but the grain is the problem
