  FW 800 port failures

  Gentlemen,

  We have a G5 and MacPro running the new FCP 6. We are getting random failures of our FW ports, both 400 and 800. We used to solve this by shutting down and unplugging the power to reset the PRam (?) but that does not work anymore. Is there a known bug in the Macs and FW ports? This is critical as we can not write to a FW drive.

  I know someone who fixed it by repairing the permissions of the drive.

  Boot from the install disc and open disc utility. Then repair permissions on the system drive.
