I’m working on a full length feature film that was originally captured in DVCProHD codec. I’ve been editing it in FCP using one 750G internal SATA drive without any problems.

I’m planning to color the project using Apple’s Color and then render the newly colored sequence in ProRes for final mastering. If I render back to ProRes 720 (24fps), can I still use the single SATA drive, or do I need to bump up to an array for faster data rates? What about regular ProRes versus HQ ProRes?

    I’m running a Dual 2.5G PowerPC G5 system with 4G of RAM and a Kona 3X card.

    Thanks,
    Russ
