Grouped Favorites
Posted by Steve Cohen on June 6, 2007 at 1:23 pmI remeber reading somewhere, I think in the Cow, that I can save a bunch of filters (IE: Color Correct, Blur and Broadcast safe) on a clip as a single favorite.
I can’t remember how to do this or find the posting.
I’m sure there is someone out there who knows this.
Thanks;

June 6, 2007 at 1:45 pmPut the effects in a folder then drag the folder to the clips you want to add them all to.
Doesn’t have to be in your favorites at all, but can be…

June 6, 2007 at 1:48 pmThanks Tom, but that’s not exactly what I was tallking about.
Doing what you said gives me 2 sepearate entries in the favorites folder.
The method I read was a way that would take both (if there are 2 filter) and place them into 2 folder so I can drag just that folder onto the new clip and both filters would be applied.
I can do it manualy but creating a folder and draging the 2 saved favorites into the folder, but I know there is a way to do it all at one.
Thanks agian.

June 6, 2007 at 1:50 pmYeah I know I can do that, but what I read did it all as 1 step and anything we can do to save a step is gold.
Thanks again.

June 6, 2007 at 1:54 pmYou can copy attributes from one clip to another and just select filters from the paste attributes command, but don’t think there’s another way to add mulitple filters to a clip.

June 6, 2007 at 2:11 pmOkk I got it. I hate getting old and forgetting stuff.
Select the clip in the timeline and then do Make Favorite from the effects menu.
This gives you a folder in your favorites with the sequence name and all the filters for that clip in the folder.
If you select the filters from the filters tab and then choose Make favorites you get 2 seperate filters in the Favorites Menu.
Sorry for the hassle.

June 6, 2007 at 2:42 pmSorry, don’t do this from the Filters tab. Just select the clip in the timeline and use Make Favorite. Do NOT open the folder in the Favorites bin or the Browser or you might lose the stack order.
All the best,

June 6, 2007 at 5:55 pmTom,
But how to make that those favorites do not desapear when trashing the prefferences? For instance, like the Magic Bullet prests.

June 6, 2007 at 6:32 pmDon’t keep them in the favorites folder. If you keep them in a project file, they won’t disappear if you trash your prefs.
