Compressor 3
Posted by Sanjay Chalisey on June 5, 2007 at 8:07 amHi All,
I have just installed Final Cut Studio 2 (upgrade) and now I’m encountering problems using Compressor 3.
In short, each time I submit a job(with either a preset or a setting of my own) the following message appears:
‘Failed: 3 x INVOKING…’
I have no idea what this means and haven’t a clue as to a solution!
Would appreciate any help.
Thanks very much in advance.

June 6, 2007 at 3:22 amSounds like an install problem… might try trashing the plist for Compressor… if this fails, I’d reinstall it.
If you did a clean install of the upgrade, I’ll wager this goes away too… (i.e. it’s not happening here after a totally clean install of OS et all…)

June 8, 2007 at 4:28 pmI re-installed FCS2, but it didn’t help.
Interestingly, if I create a new user account, Comp3 works fine for that user.
So – you would think I must have a corrupt preference file or soemthing right? I trashed everything I could find in my User folder – preferences, custom presets, etc… but nothing helped.
Apple Pro Apps Support is looking into it and says they will get back to me by Monday.
Luckily, I have Squeeze to fall back on – but the workflow isn’t as smooth.

June 12, 2007 at 5:42 pmDavid or sanjchal,
Any success?
I also have the said issue with Compressor 3 and Batch Monitor? Everything I submitted failed.
I used FCS 2 upgrade and didn’t opt for a ‘clean-install’.
I deleted Compressor 3 and Apple QMaster and now I want to re-install these items

June 12, 2007 at 5:47 pmSorry – no success as of yet.
I’m still waiting on an answer from Apple Pro Video Support.
I’m 99% sure a clean OS install and a clean FCP6 install would do it – but who has time for that, right?
Luckily, I have Squeeze, which I’m using in the meantime…
