    Hey,

    Question:

My normal workflow is when im editing on FCP and i need some animation over the video(like an SVO, animed text,..), i export the shot i want the animation over, import in AFx then put the animation over it, export and back in FCP. Put this always costs alot of time, because of the rendertimes.
Is there an otherway to do this.
When a client want the animation later, or somewhere else in the edit, i have to rerender everything.
A was thinking just to render to animations(whitout video) out with alpha(+millions of collors) en put on a channel above, but it looks pretty bad everytime(it has white borders around it).
What the best way to do this?
    Motion is not an option.

When you render your RGB+Alpha, what do you set your color channels to in the output module? Try setting the color to STRAIGHT. That solves lots of alpha issues.

If that isn’t it you may have deeper issues.

    Hey,

    The white borders are gone.
Put the animation still look pretty bad.

    FCP:
Frame size 720*576 CCIR DV PAL 5/4
    Pixel Aspect ratio CC01 Anamorphic.
    LOWER
    Compresser DV-PAl

    In After Effects:
My comp: 720*576 widescreen. NOT square pixels.
Output; None codec, best quality, quicktime, color straight, same resolution as comp.

What im a doing wrong here?

I’d render to the Animation codec instead.

Maybe your problem is earlier in the process, before the render queue, somewhere in your comp. If you render with the background does it look good?
