Can anyone lead me to a list of profane language to be bleeped out in order to meet FCC standards during the safe-harbor time. Also, does anyone know where I can find the sound “bleep” in order to “bleep” out curse words? Thanks.

Check with the network that will be broadcasting the show. Over the air and cable networks have different standards based on the dayparts.

Every FCP system comes with Bars & Tone. Just use tone to bleep out the expletives.

Do a search for FCC v. Pacifica Foundation. 1974 case involving George Carlin. The 7 dirty words you can never say on television.

I did learn something in my media law class many years ago.

Broadcast television. Cable is different, like the example I used of Comedy Central. I’ll have to look and see if all 7 word still apply today, I wonder if any of them are now being used regularly even on broadcast.

    The funny thing is…
There were never regs for any words for the network until, get this, George Carlin wrote a stand up routine about 7 words you cant say. He came up with it out of thin air.

Then someone sued someone else and the top court in the land got involved and now there really are 7 words you cant say on over the air radio/tv.

    Thanks George Carlin…

I am not sure but I thing the words F$#@ and S$@! are part of the seven. I think foot is not…

    Chris

I just tried to post the above and it seems there is a clever software something that saw the offending words in full and stoped things, I guess there are seven or more words here too. Suits me fine.
