  Newbie Question – Jumpy Type in AE Animation

  I’m using AE 6.5 and have created a “history” sequence for my DVD. I imported old photographs from the Florida Archives and put a colored bar across the title-safe bottom and then typed inside of that. The type doesn’t come in from the sides or anything, it just goes from 0-100 opacity and then back to invisible again. During the time when the type is being displayed, it is “jumpy” (after the entire project is rendered and I play it on my television set) — it looks like a field order problem but i cannot for the life of me figure out how to change the field dominance on something I created in AE… or is it a deinterlace thing? I exported the AE file as a Quicktime with no compression because I brought it into Premiere Pro as a clip and then rendered the Premiere Pro .avi file without compression as well. For some reason I cannot make a DVD from PP (dual-core processor issue), so I bring it into Encore DVD to output the final (and because it requires a menu).

  I also made a “credits” sequence and it doesn’t show the same problems at all, same settings.

  Does it default to no fields, when you build it from scratch? If so, then that’s not the problem. I have it with this piece but not another with even more similar type on it.

  Thanks – duh, i didn’t find the render settings I needed in there (regarding fields or deinterlacing)… so I rendered it out full to .avi and brought it into Premiere Pro to couple with another clip before I imported it into Encore DVD, which worked great. Double-checked the field order in Premiere Pro, though.
