Posted by Suncloud on May 21, 2007 at 6:03 pm

I’m renting my Panasonic 1400HD deck out (I use HDSDI and the renter is using the firewire port – into Avid Express) . . . and he can’t get a downconverted SD (DV) signal out through the firewire . . . is HD the only format passable through that firewire port? (He CAN get the 720p signal when he is importing into an Avid HD project, but CAN’T get a DV Stand Def. signal going into a “DV project.” Any ideas?

    Thanks,

You have to go into the 800 menus to change this. Can’t remember exactly which one, but it’s somewhere in the 800 section of the menus.

    As walter said

you need to set the deck to down convert via the FW port.

It is the 880 menu that allows for the conversion to DV from the HD masters
