Hi! I will be very grateful for an answer to this question… ; ) . I’m using FCP 5.1

I have a music video. It’s four minutes of video, and audio which is synced to it, but not associated with the original video file.

Forward, the audio is locked to the vid quite well. I need to reverse this for my project, audio and video.

When I do this in Canvas with the scrubber (bottom left tab), by pulling that tab to the left three clicks, the whole thing plays backwards, video and audio, exactly in sync.

When I actually reverse the audio and vid though, it’s not. This is my process (it may be wrong)

I click on the video track, go to Modify>Speed> and reverse 100% with Frame Blending. Then I do the same thing with the audio. Both reverse, but they are completely different now. Not a little out of sync, but clearly at different points in the sequence when I watch in the Canvas.

So, as I said, the audio is not associated with the original video. So they are different lengths. But, again, it works great when I reverse temporarily in the Canvas window.

What do I do to get these two synced when I reverse them? Is there a way to “link” the two files, audio and video, so that they do things the same either way? If you send advice, please write each step; I’m new to video and FCP.

btw, Linked Selection is enabled in upper right of Timeline.

Thank you very much for any help!
