I could do with some advice regarding most efficient use of my screens, because my desk space (and budget) is limited.

I have two 23″ Cinema’s and a JVC Broadcast monitor. One 23″ is connected to FCP mac, along with the JVC, and the other 23″ is connected to my other mac and is used primarily for Protools.

As I do both the visual and audio work on our commercials I feel its better to have the two disciplines on separate machines.

I would like to be able to have a switchable option that would allow me to have dual 23″ screens on FCP, or one on each, or dual on the Protools. Is this at all possible without climbing into the rack and re-wiring everytime i want to change my views?

I have a feeling that there will be some technical reason to prevent this, but thought it a good topic to throw out for discussion.

    regards
    Adam

You could yuse a KVM (Keyboard Video Monitor switch), I did a search on Google and found several options.

    https://www.kvms.com/products/KEEMUX-P2V-2.asp
    https://www.kvm-switches-online.com/cs1744.html
are just a couple of them.

I had a similar setup at another job.

I had a PC with 2 video outputs and a MAc with 2 video outputs.
At the time I had to use 2 manual A/B switches to switch each of the monitors.

I use KVM switches to control multiple computers and monitors. It works great and saves a lot of time.
