I just had this issue the first time. Tried everything mentioned here (trash prefs, trash Constant Frames, etc.)

I noticed that after trashing prefs, I could make it go away if I used my internal disk as my scratch disk. But when I changed it to my array, the problem came back.

I ended up running Disk Warrior on the array. It found filesystem corruption and corrupt files (files I actually thought I trashed).

    This fixed the problem 100%.

So anyone with this problem, first try power cycling all your disks. And if that doesn’t work, run Disk Warrior.

I thought trashing the constant frames was supposed to fix this?

I tried that and it didn’t work. In fact I trashed the Render Files folder on all my disks.

I’ve noticed that when running Disk Warrior in the past, it often finds problems with the “Constant Frames” folder. It’s possible that the person who discovered that trick only had that folder corrupted. But it seems the green slug thing can happen to anyone who has data corruption on a scratch disk.
